Sebastian Krug completed his doctorate in marine biogeochemistry at the GEOMAR Centre for Ocean Research. After working for about a decade in the public sector, he shifted to the private sector and founded his own company. 

He points out that the most important skill he learned during the doctorate is perseverance. He also adds that skills training is a useful and needed component of every doctorate. 

His opinion is that there are many vacant positions for doctorate holders in the job market, but you have to be persistent.
