Alicia Bugeja Said works as Fisheries Advisor at The Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights in Malta. She is very satisfied with working in the public sector because she can introduce changes while working on the subject she likes.

In her opinion, the PhD journey introduces students to different challenges and skills like time management, resilience and independence. She considers specific internships very important to understand the changes needed for the sustainable management of the sector.
