Do you work with biological material (like plants, animals or microorganisms) and heard about the Nagoya Protocol or Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) rules? Or maybe you are still not sure if it is relevant to you and your research?
Join this online course organized at Kiel University and find out what researchers need to know and do to be compliant with any obligations stemming from the Nagoya Protocol and the EU regulations.
During this course, you’ll also hear about the user checks that have already started in Germany, what are some of the direct consequences for being non-compliant (e.g. fines, embargo of material and publications, etc), what requirements journals and funding agencies might start asking for and tools and tips already available for you to use and inform yourself.
This course is open for doctoral researchers of Kiel University as well as from our partner universities in the SEA-EU Alliance. If you are a doctoral candidate of one of SEA-EU partner universities, and interested in joining the course, please send a short mail to info@gz.uni-kiel.de including your name, home institution and email address. The deadline for applications is 7 May 2023.
