University of Brest is offering master student internship opportunity in social sciences

Scientific background of the internship call is related to University campuses of the Sea Eu alliance. They are often located in urban area and have a role to play in transport planning since they are amongst the largest generators of commuters. However, mobility to and from the work and study place is still characterized by high levels of private car use, resulting in traffic congestion, parking constraint and many others side effects. Our objective is to assist the improvement of public space around campuses in city centres and suburban areas by increasing bike-friendliness and walk friendliness and to inform students and employees on active commuting benefits 2–4. Some universities have a higher experience about active travelers and have already conduct an assessment and spatial distribution of perceived walkability and bike ability around campus. While some others are at the very beginning of the process. We would like to create a shared vision and to collect on a web platform : tips, methods, programs, itineraries, and all material to promote sustainable mobility to and from campuses.
